Indonesia and Philippines Junior Category Regional Final concludes, Prima Alzahravi becomes champion of the weekend

The Challenger Cup Asian Digital Motorsport Championship Indonesia and Philippines GT4 youth regional final was held online last Saturday, 19th of February, Prima Alzahravi takes overall win after two furiously competitive races.
 
 

 
 
The “2nd Challenger Cup - Asian Digital Motorsport Championship” was announced last September, the seeded drivers were selected successfully through the online qualifiers. All regions are fully ready to host their own regional finals. The best non-seeded drivers from each region will join the twelfth seeded drivers and compete at the Asia Finals. The regional finals of Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China have been hosted successfully, the regional finals of other countries will be held online in the coming weeks.
 
 

 
 
The GT4 Junior Category races follow the format of all other regional finals for all regions, which consists of two rounds of point scoring races. the contestant with the highest points tally after the two races becomes the champion. The other highest scoring non seeded driver progresses to the Asian Grand Final. The drivers battled on two famous F1 venues throughout the day, Monza Grand Prix Circuit in Italy and Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in the United Kingdom. In the first round at Monza, Joshua Marquez was first to cross the finish line, however he was dropped back in the final standings after a post-race time penalty was applied, gifting the round one crown to Prima Alzahravi.
 
 

 
 
Indonesian Drivers Successfully Advanced to the Asian Grand Final
 
The second round held at Silverstone Circuit, was equally exciting, the drivers battled non stop for the second position, and the position traded hands multiple times. At the end Prima Alzahravi takes his second win of the day, and becomes the regional representative of Indonesia and will compete in the Asia Grand Final representing his country. His fellow countrymen Nauval Setyawab and Joshua Marquez will also progress to the Asia Grand Final.
 
 

 
 
The regional finals of the remaining regions will be contested over the coming weekend. Drivers from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam gave their all to become the TCR open and GT3 Open representative of their region.
